Role Overview – Associate Software Engineer:

As an Associate Software Engineer at Kaplan, you will be involved in the full software development lifecycle—from coding and testing to documentation and deployment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable, high-quality software solutions while actively participating in agile practices and improving process efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Write, test, debug, and maintain code to ensure robust and high-performance software.
  • Identify and fix bugs in existing applications to improve reliability and performance.
  • Contribute to writing comprehensive test cases covering functionality, integration, and performance.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software that meets business requirements.
  • Collaborate in agile teams and actively participate in all scrum ceremonies.
  • Enhance documentation for systems and processes to streamline team understanding and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Strong grasp of core programming concepts: data structures, object-oriented programming, modular design, and multi-tier architecture.
  • Ability to write and execute unit tests and debug software efficiently.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and team tools (e.g., Jira, Git).

Preferred Skills:

  • Basic knowledge or experience with front-end and/or back-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React, NodeJS, .NET, Java, Salesforce (Apex, Visualforce, Lightning), Python, Shell scripting.
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals including modularization and object-oriented design principles.
  • Awareness of ATOM architecture principles for designing scalable and flexible systems.
