Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled IT Analyst Applications to join India CoE-Integration & Engg CAT IT Division .The Snowflake Administrator is an entry-level platform administration role that supports secure, reliable, and scalable Snowflake operations. The role focuses on access management and provisioning, user communication forum management, environment readiness, and on-call support for data replication. The administrator follows documented procedures, works closely with senior platform team members, and builds new skills as the Snowflake platform grows.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore – Caterpillar PSN

What you will do

  • Access management and provisioning: Process approved requests for users, roles, and data access; validate required information; apply documented role-based access standards; and maintain accurate evidence of completed changes.
  • User lifecycle support: Assist with onboarding, role changes, access removal, and routine account troubleshooting while escalating exceptions or elevated-access decisions.
  • User communication forum management: Coordinate Snowflake user forums and communication channels, publish service updates and planned maintenance notices, organize questions, and route issues to the appropriate subject-matter expert.
  • Environment readiness: Complete readiness checklists for development, test, and production activities; verify access, objects, scripts, documentation, and support coverage before scheduled changes or releases.
  • Data replication support: Participate in the on-call rotation, monitor replication health and alerts, perform approved first-level recovery steps, collect diagnostic details, and escalate significant incidents.
  • GitHub and change practices: Use GitHub to maintain scripts, configuration, runbooks, and documentation; follow review, approval, and version-control procedures.
  • Operational documentation: Create and update support procedures, knowledge articles, request records, readiness checklists, and incident notes.
  • Continuous learning: Build Snowflake administration knowledge through training, job shadowing, and hands-on assignments, and take on broader responsibilities as capability develops.
  • Collaboration and service: Communicate clearly with users and technical partners, provide timely status updates, and contribute to a responsive, customer-focused support experience.

What you will have

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, data, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Foundational understanding of databases, cloud platforms, identity and access concepts, or data operations.
  • Basic SQL skills and the ability to learn Snowflake administration tasks using documented procedures.
  • Basic familiarity with Git or GitHub, including repositories, branches, pull requests, and version-controlled documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow security, approval, change-management, and audit requirements.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, customer-service orientation, and comfort supporting users through shared forums and support channels.
  • Ability to troubleshoot routine issues, gather relevant evidence, document actions, and escalate appropriately.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for data replication support after training and readiness validation.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a demonstrated commitment to learning new Snowflake capabilities as the platform scales.
  • This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office.
