The Reporting Engineer is responsible for supporting and developing reporting solutions that drive business efficiency and optimization. We are looking for a strong candidate capable of working independently without close supervision.  As an Engineer, you will be directly responsible for your work, technical direction as well as technical standard.  To be a successful employee you must also have the ability to effectively communicate with and work in a collaborative environment.

The Business Intelligence team at Trek utilizes the latest and greatest BI tools available on the market. From Spark, Databricks, Azure Fabric, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake Store, SQL 2022 and the rest of the Azure stack, our team provides a critical business need that drives business decisions across the organization. The BI team is fast paced and fun team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Administration of Microsoft PowerBI artifacts – reports, dashboards, shared semantic models, data sets, schedules, capacity, gateways, etc.
  • Monitoring and optimization of PowerBI reports
  • Conversion of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports to PowerBI
  • Conversion of Microsoft Excel reports to PowerBI
  • Assisting End Users in use and conversion to PowerBI
  • Occasional On-Call support of mission critical reporting

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS      

  • Must be able to work during office hours in various time zones as needed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline
  • Ability to Demonstrate PowerBI Mastery
  • Experience with DAX, SQL, and MDX (MDX is not required but useful)
  • Power Query Mastery (knowledge and mastery of M language not required but useful).
