About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Application Support Engineer to provide L1/L2 support for production systems and applications. In this role, you will monitor system performance, troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues, and ensure seamless operations across critical business systems. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to the automation of support processes.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide L1/L2 production support for business-critical applications and systems.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application, infrastructure, and performance-related incidents.
  • Collaborate with development teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and maintain detailed documentation of findings and solutions.
  • Maintain and update support documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
  • Participate in deployment activities and conduct post-deployment validations.
  • Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and timely ticket resolution.
  • Automate recurring support tasks using scripting languages or automation tools.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on issue status, resolution progress, and timelines.
  • Comply with company policies, contractual terms, and directives, including flexibility for changes in work location, shifts, or benefits.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Application Support Engineer or similar role.
  • Experience with ticketing systems like JIRA, ServiceNow, or similar.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Nagios, or Grafana.
  • Basic understanding of networking and system administration.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Exposure to databases with the ability to write basic SQL queries.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
