Tesco is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our analytics and insights team. In this role, you’ll work on complex datasets, transforming them into compelling dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau and PyDash. Your analytical skills and visualization expertise will support data-driven decision-making across various business functions.

About the Role

As a Data Analyst, you will:

• Analyze and interpret complex datasets to develop insightful reports and visualizations.
• Use tools like Tableau, PyDash, Advanced Excel, SQL, Hive, and scripting tools such as Python or Alteryx to automate processes and present key findings.
• Work closely with business partners to understand and translate business problems into analytical tasks.
• Maintain data quality and ensure accuracy in reports and dashboards.
• Write clean, efficient, and scalable code, and contribute to reusable modules via internal knowledge-sharing platforms like GitHub or Wiki.
• Take ownership of analytics tasks, support process automation, and deliver high-quality, actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Use CI tools and techniques to identify and implement process improvements.
• Translate business needs into analytical problems and deliver solutions that support operational decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support analytics across marketing, customer, supply chain, merchandising, operations, finance, and digital functions.
• Manipulate, analyze, and synthesize large datasets from multiple sources, ensuring data integrity.
• Deliver reports and dashboards in a timely manner with high quality.
• Support automation of report refreshes and repetitive tasks.

You’ll Need:

• 1–2 years of analytics experience in retail, telecom, CPG, hospitality, or similar industries
• Strong skills in:
  • Data Visualization using Tableau or PyDash
  • Data Analysis using Excel (Pivot Tables, Advanced Formulas)
  • SQL, Hive, Hadoop, Teradata
  • Basic statistical concepts such as correlation analysis and hypothesis testing
  • Automation with Alteryx or Python (preferred)
• Experience in building self-service dashboards and interpreting business processes
• Excellent problem-solving ability with a mindset to go beyond the ask
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
