About the Role

Morningstar is hiring Data Analysts to join our Data and Operations Group. This is an entry-level opportunity to work with diverse datasets, including public equity filings, private market transactions, ESG taxonomies, managed investment data, and reference entity data.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in data analysis, validation, and reporting while developing expertise in Excel, SQL, and Power BI. With structured training and mentorship, this role sets the foundation for a successful long-term career in data and investment research.

Job Description :-

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, validate, and maintain datasets of basic to intermediate complexity.
• Respond to internal/client queries ensuring data accuracy and adherence to methodologies.
• Apply Morningstar research methods and process standards to deliver high-quality, timely data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data-related issues.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives, automation projects, and stretch assignments beyond core responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Finance preferred) with at least 60% marks.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word).
• Excellent English communication skills (written, verbal, comprehension).
• Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and curiosity-driven mindset.
• Ability to learn quickly, multitask, and perform under tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

• Basic knowledge of SQL and Power BI.
• Familiarity with financial markets, investment data, or ESG frameworks.
• Exposure to data operations or research through projects/internships.

Shift & Work Model

• Permanent position based in Mumbai (Vashi, Navi Mumbai).
• Candidates must be Mumbai-based or willing to relocate.
• Flexibility to work in rotational shifts (including night shifts).
