Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate on cross-functional projects, working closely with other engineers and teams.
• Provide constructive feedback during code reviews and technical design discussions.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of systems operated by your team.
• Gain the skills and experience needed to own a project end-to-end, including project management and technical leadership.

Who You Are

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science or related field, to be completed by Summer 2026 (or equivalent work experience).
• Some experience with programming through coursework, side projects, or internships. Stripe’s stack includes Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, and Go, but a strong foundation in CS fundamentals is most important.
• Experience in collaborative coding environments, either academic (group projects) or professional (internships).
• Ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly through research, mentorship, and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialized knowledge in at least one area, such as frontend development or understanding how services handle HTTP requests.
• Familiarity with code review practices and updating production systems safely.
• Experience navigating and managing work within large-scale codebases.

In-Office Expectations

Stripe follows a flexible hybrid work model, balancing in-person collaboration with remote flexibility.

• Most office-assigned engineers spend at least 50% of their time in-office.
• Some roles (e.g., Stripe Delivery Center in Bengaluru, India, and Mexico City, Mexico) are 100% in-office.
• Location-specific attendance requirements may apply, and hiring managers will share details.
