Role Overview

As an Operations Manager I, you will be aligned to one of Amazon’s key operations roles based on business needs:

  • Area Manager (Fulfillment Center/Sort Center)
  • Operations Manager (Customer/Seller Services or Transportation)
  • Station Manager (Delivery Station Operations)

You will work closely with the India operations leadership team, lead cross-functional initiatives, analyze performance metrics, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

For All Roles

  • Lead and develop teams across operational functions including fulfillment, delivery, or customer/seller services.
  • Own performance metrics such as productivity, safety, quality, and delivery.
  • Utilize Lean and Kaizen techniques to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to implement scalable solutions.
  • Manage people, processes, and technology to ensure business continuity and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive execution and innovation in alignment with Amazon’s customer-centric values.

Area Manager (Fulfillment/Sort Center)

  • Oversee on-ground operations with frequent floor walk-throughs.
  • Conduct audits, coach associates, and enforce process discipline.
  • Drive improvement in inventory accuracy, productivity, and safety.
  • Support and mentor hourly associates while ensuring operational benchmarks are met.

Operations Manager (Customer/Seller Services, Transportation)

  • Improve customer experience through defect analysis and resolution strategies.
  • Develop and monitor performance improvement plans with 3P logistics partners.
  • Drive initiatives in areas such as returns experience, supply chain expansion, and cost control.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends and uncover new business opportunities.

Station Manager (Delivery Station)

  • Define routing logistics from fulfillment centers to delivery locations.
  • Optimize delivery capacity and manage delivery performance at the city level.
  • Mentor supervisors, conduct appraisals, and implement station-level process improvements.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify operational bottlenecks and design corrective strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (non-CS and non-circuit branches preferred).
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including night shifts and non-traditional weekends.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in Excel, including Macros and Lookup functions.
  • Knowledge of Lean methodologies, Kaizen, and supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with performance tracking and data-driven decision-making.
  • Effective project management and organizational skills.
